HTML5 Banner Development

Building an in-house HTML5 capability with GSAP to bring motion, interaction and scalable campaign production into the team.

From outsourced production to an in-house capability.

Digital campaigns required HTML5 banner execution across multiple formats and business areas. I established an internal production capability using HTML, CSS, JavaScript and GSAP, allowing animated banners to be developed and iterated within the team.

The approach gave us greater control over the creative, faster iteration and a more scalable way to support digital campaign delivery.

HTML5 production was dependent on external capability.

The opportunity was to bring more of the production process in-house while retaining the quality and flexibility expected from campaign work.

Rather than treating HTML5 as a one-off technical deliverable, I developed a repeatable approach for creating animated digital advertising that could be adapted across formats and campaigns.

Build once. Adapt across formats.

I developed hand-coded HTML5 banners using GSAP, combining motion design with front-end development to create lightweight, responsive digital executions.

The workflow allowed creative concepts to be translated directly into browser-based animation, with control over timing, sequencing, interaction and technical delivery.

HTML5 capability established in-house.
The new capability reduced reliance on external production and created a scalable foundation for delivering animated digital campaigns across multiple business units.

It also brought motion and front-end execution closer together, allowing creative and production decisions to happen within the same workflow.

HTML5 became more than a production format
— it became an internal creative capability.
